When I try to fit the model with a small batch size, it successfully runs. When I fit with a larger batch size, it runs out of memory.

Nothing unexpected so far. However, the only way I can then release the GPU memory is to restart my computer. Also, If I try to run another model, it fails much sooner. I think this is not only a problem of nvidia-smi. I have similar issues with tensorflow 1. The first session using GPU initializes it, and frees itself when the process shuts down. These few lines already clutter the memory. As mentioned above I would like to avoid killing the session and thus losing my varibales in memory used to train a NN. I am aware that I can alocate only a fraction of the memory cfg.
